United States Copyright Office
Mechanical Licensing Collective (MLC)
The MLC, a nonprofit organization designated by the U.S. Copyright Office, launched in 2021. It collects and pays mechanical interactive streaming royalties generated by Digital Service Providers (DSPs) including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Tidal.
Affiliate with a Performing Rights Society
PROs collect performance revenues for the songwriter(s). The U.S. has several, but you can only affiliate with one:
SoundExchange
For songwriters who also perform/record their own works, SoundExchange collects digital performance royalties generated by sound recordings on behalf of recording owners and performers.
